Fine silk weaving of various blue, light green and cream hues highlighted with gold thread dragons, various bats and flowers in vases, the composition revealing the style of early Qing robes. Good overall condition of the kesi, the gold paper threads partly slightly worn, one cuff slightly worn. L. 130 cm. Estimate 2500/3500 €
Property of the former German counselor Dr. Joachim Schulze (1880-1954), who was living in China from 1907 to 1940, his stays being only shortly interrupted by trips to the Phillippines and Java. He did his military service in Qingdao and lived mostly in the cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Harbin and Changsha.
