A small double-gourd vase with carved decoration of Liu Hai and toad, China, incised (wheel-cut?) Qianlong mark and possibly of the period. Photo Nagel Auktionen

Double gourd shape, the base bearing a kaishu script four-character mark, opaque glass of even pea green colour -  Very minor wear. H. 8,1 cm. Estimate 5000/8000 €

Cf. the group of late 18th/early 19th ct. glassworks imitating jade, malachite, turquoise, quartz, amber and other precious or semi-precious stone carvings as to be seen in the Palace Museum Collection, this item imitating a green jade.
