A moulded wucai vase, hu, circa 1630 - Sothebys
of square section, the curved sides rising from a straight foot to a waisted neck, flanked by a pair of lion mask handles suspending mock rings, one face moulded in relief with a figure holding a bow and an attendant beside, the other face with a foreigner and Buddhist lion, the two sides each similarly decorated with a basket of auspicious objects, all divided by vertical classic scroll borders in underglaze-blue, the rim and the foot encircled with keyfret band, Japanese wood box.
