the fritware body with thuluth calligraphic inscription painted in underglaze in cobalt blue between spiralling tendrils moulded in relief with turquoise highlights, with an overglaze lustre ground.
Inscriptions: Part of the word ([al-]rahman) and the last word (al-rahim) of the bismillah followed by two words. Possibly Qur’anic, chapter XXXIII (al-Ahzab), verse 47.
