the two train movement with standing barrels contained within the howdah, later enamel time dial to the front, engraved silver strike indication dial to the rear, glazed panels to the sides, verge escapement with later pendulum, the bell contained within an arcade surmounted by a crenellated section containing dancers who revolve with the strike, all mounted on the back of a well modelled elephant, the eyes formerly oscillating with the escapement, the howdah blanket decorated with foliate scrolls and tassels; on a carved giltwood base; 48cm. high; 19in.
