The larger central section of square baluster form with four smaller vases of similar form isuing from flat sides; teadust glaze of dark and even tone; with accompanying fitted rosewood stand carved with scrolled legs and characters to platform indicating property from the Lanling Bieshu. PROVENANCE: Lanling Bieshu, "The Lanling Residence", is a historic home in Hunan Province, long the home of the celebrated Xiao / Jiang family. In the Qing Dynasty, twenty-four members of the Jiang clan were recorded to have attained courtly rank above the seventh order; and over a hundred are known to have worked in the Imperial archive.
