of shallow five-lobed form, carved in relief to the center with a lively Buddhist lion playing with a beribboned ball among four more auspicious emblems all within a single conforming band, the cavetto with further Buddhist symbols, the reverse incised with guri-type scrolls, the base and low foot in black lacquer. Diameter 8 in., 24 cm. Estimation 20,000 — 30,000 USD
