Large Chinese Export Silver Tankard. Circa 1860
A great battle unfolds in wonderful repoussé work upon this beautiful Chinese export silver tankard. Crafted by Lee Ching of Canton, Shanghai and Hong Kong, this doube-skinned form is a fine example of mid-19th century Chinese silver created specifically to meet Western tastes. The addition of a dragon-formed handle, the Chinese symbol of good luck and strength, completes the tankards wonderful design. Marked "LEE CHING". 4 3/4" wide x 5 1/4" high.
