Teapot, Niderviller, France, c. 1745-1755
Earthenware with tin glaze and enamel (petit feu faïence), The Huntington Art Collections, Gift of MaryLou Boone, 2010.6.11, cat. no. 46. LACMA
The rendering of the large roses on this teapot is so specific that they can be linked to a print source; the full rose copies an engraving by Jacques Vauquer from 1670–80, and the smaller ones copy an engraving by Jacob Hoefnagel from 1592.
