Antique Three-Stone Diamond Ring with 1.91 Carat Fancy Color Diamond. Photo courtesy Lang Antiques

A singular and sensational antique diamond ring, crafted in platinum over 18k rose gold, featuring a trio of very old and unusual diamonds. The 1.91 carat triangular center diamond has a rose-cut-type top and is certified by the GIA as "Fancy Light Pink Brown". The side diamonds, which total just over 1.00 carat, are very early table-cut diamonds, and along with the central diamond, probably date back to the late-eighteenth, early-nineteenth century. The three diamonds are set on the bias in charming fleur d'leis-style prong settings embellished with rose-cut diamond leaves. The ring measures 1 and 3/16 inches across - comfortably embracing the length of your finger. Fabulous and far from ordinary. Over 3.00 carats total weight. Price on request

The “Flamingo and Lotus” automaton clock combines two Cartier motifs within an impressive, glamorously gem-set work of art. Cartier’s Lotus automata clocks arose during the 1980s during an age of decadence and sumptuous design in Mystery Clocks. For a similar example of Cartier Lotus automata clock from the 1980s, see Barracca, J., Negretti, G., and Nencini, F., Le Temps de Cartier, p. 305. Perched alongside, the bejeweled Flamingo is synonymous with the royal history of Cartier. This dazzling motif hearkens back to the magnificent and famous Flamingo brooch formerly in the collection of the Duchess of Windsor, which was purchased by Collection Cartier for £1,721,250 / US$2,678,954 at Sotheby’s London in November 2010.
