The vase in decorated with four phoenix in flight amongst peony blossoms on a scrolling leafy ground. The base is marked with a double circle in underglaze blue. 18 in. (46 cm.) high. A triangular section of the mouth rim is missing measuring max. approx. 1.2cm x 2cm. Large triangular section of the rim and neck has been broken and visibly re-attached measuring max. 38cm diameter and 13.5cm deep. Some scattered pitting and scattered iron spots. Scratches and surface wear in keeping with its age. Eleven chips to lower edge of the vase, the largest measuring max. approx. 2cm x 0.8cm. Old paper label to the base of the vase reads "4".. Estimation: USD 2,000 - 4,000
